Over 50,000 pieces of artwork are reportedly stolen annually throughout the world. But less than 10% are ever found.

Here are some of the most expensive — and unrecovered — stolen paintings in history:

  • The Concert, Johannes Vermeer (~$200M)
  • Harlequin Head, Pablo Picasso (~$150M)
  • The Storm on the Sea of Galilee, Rembrandt (~100M)
  • Le Pigeon Aux Petits Pois, Pablo Picasso ($28M)
  • Nativity with St. Francis and St. Lawrence, Caravaggio ($20M)
